I recently had the fine opportunity to work with Nicole over at the Improper Bostonian for an article about Old Luxury versus New Luxury. The article states that old luxury is seen more and more as these suite and tie formal places. New luxury places are seen as simplified/hip establishments that sell simple things that are made to look luxurious.
Putting a hot dog on a silver platter seemed really funny to me even though a fancy hamburger is probably more the case.
In the end they wanted something that was closer to the brief they had presented to me. Originally, they wanted to show a table split in half showing the opposites. But I suggested that having them back to back showed more of the tension between the two schools of thought.
Thanks again Nicole for hiring me for such a rad piece. Thanks for reading.
